I’ve been blogging about my favorite clothes for 7 years now, and it’s taught me a few things about my personal style. I love a good graphic tee. My favorite outfit formula is black and a pop of color. Lipstick can take a dress the next level. One thing I don’t really play around with? Monochrome. So I was surprised this mostly gray outfit felt very me.
This outfit came together on accident. I was originally looking for my black jeans, but I couldn’t find them in the black hole that is my wardrobe. So instead I just grabbed these and went for it. Well surprise, I liked it! Sometimes, it’s just best to keep it simple. It wasn’t until after I took these photos that I realized this is a gray knockoff of an all-black outfit Priya wore last summer — down to the statement necklace and clogs! I think the key to monochrome outfits is different textures and adding a colorful accessory for contrast. Turns out, that’s the same formula I used last time I blogged a monochrome outfit.
This weekend it felt almost fall-like, and I am not ready for that. I haven’t gone swimming nearly enough times, but it is nice to be able to wear jeans more often. I will not bend and do any fall shopping…yet.
