Friendsgiving

Paisley Print 70s-inspired Dress for Friendsgiving

A couple weekends ago, my friends and I celebrated Friendsgiving. It was so much fun catching up with my girlfriends, and the food wasn’t too bad either. (I made this pumpkin cheesecake.) It was my first time celebrating Friensgiving, and since our actual Thanksgiving is so casual (think yoga pants casual), I took the opportunity to dress up a little. It was another one of those warmer fall days so I went tight-less. (Come back, mild weather!)

This is one of those dresses I tend to pull out during the fall — I last blogged it November two years ago! For Friendsgiving, I kept things simple, and wore it backwards (I think — there’s no tags) for a high neckline to pair with this chain necklace. The necklace is definitely a statement piece, but I like this more subtle, unexpected pairing.

I hope everyone who’s celebrating enjoys their Thanksgiving and (hopefully!) long weekend. Remember to enjoy it, and keep your Thanksgiving outfit food baby friendly.

Dainty Fall Details

LOFT Sweater, Kohls pants

We’ve been having the strangest fall. I guess every fall is strange since the weather is so fickle, but it’s still generally warm enough for a light coat and I love that. Until the cold really hits, I’ve been incorporating more autumn colors and accessories.

Maroon Sweater & Mustard Print Scarf

This scarf was a birthday gift, and while it’s not something I would’ve picked myself, I love it. I guess my friends know me a little better than I know myself! I love the different colors in it, and how I can build my outfits around the maroon or the blue in it. Who knew mustard and maroon would go together so well?

Mustard Scarf, Bow Ring

Besides scarves, I also love wearing rings in the fall (before I have to break out the gloves!). I adore this sterling silver bow ring from Wild Lilies Jewelry. I have a problem finding sized rings that fit me, but this one was available in size 6, making it perfect. It’s the perfect dainty touch to an outfit, even for someone (like myself) whose style isn’t super girly. The bow is Kate Spade-esque, and it’ll be perfect for holiday outfits too.

Wild Lilies Jewelry Sterling Silver Ring

If you haven’t heard of Wild Lilies Jewelry,  it’s a local accessories shop with a storefront in Ambler, PA run by a mother-daughter team. My love of clothing, accessories and bargain hunting came from my mom, so I really love that. Another awesome thing about Wild Lilies? Everything is under $50, and shipping is free after $100 spent, so you can cross off a lot of people from your holiday shopping list.
