Spring Outfit Ideas

The weather in Philadelphia continues to be spastic: one day I’m wearing long sleeves and my winter jacket, and the next it’s too warm for my jeans. Getting dressed has been an adventure, and I was running low on inspiration. On the bright side, that’s why I read blogs. Here are some spring outfit ideas from my favorite bloggers:

via Priya the blog

Priya rocks colors like nobody’s business (have you seen her new site?!), but she works neutrals too. I have all of these pieces: little white dress, beige cardigan, black clogs, beaded necklace. Have I thought of pairing them together before? Nope.

via Nicole at Writes Like A Girl

I love my denim vest, but I usually cop out and just wear it with a dress. Nicole has a better idea: A simple tank and a print skirt has the same vibe, but a touch more creativity. Also, pendant necklaces are my favorite.

via Kimi at Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Dark florals and ankle boots may give off a fall vibe, but Kimi proves that a simple white tee can really brighten things up. Also, I love wearing ankle boots into spring because who has time for a pedicure? (Answer: not me.)

You can find my spring outfits and posts here. Also, if you have any spring outfit ideas or accessible fashion blogger recommendations, send them my way! I’m always looking for new reads. Happy weekend!

Blog It Better: The Blog Connect

The Blog Connect2017I think I’m finally recovering from a case of exhaustion and writer’s block, which means it’s Blog Connect recap time! I was lucky enough to be part of this year’s planning committee, and it was so rewarding to see everything come together! First up on Saturday evening, my co-sponsorship director Melissa and I welcomed our wonderful speakers at The Baker’s Jar (16th and Bainbridge).

Melissa and me — it was cold so I had to wear ankle boots!

After we met and chatted with our speakers, it was time to head to ellelauri (19th and Chestnut) for our kickoff party! It’s a super chic boutique, and the staff is super nice. Boutiques can intimidate me, but ellelauri has items across different price points and the pieces are all so fun. It was great to catch up with blogger friends and meet new people before the craziness of the conference on Sunday!

Blog Connect Concihairge BraidBraids by Concihairge. Obsessed. (Also doesn’t the purple lipstick make the whole outfit pop?)

Priyanka from Paint the Town Chic spearheaded the party planning, and it was awesome! In addition to a braid bar by Concihairge, we had a flatlay space with help from Ann Blake from Ann Blake Photography. We had kombucha from Inspired Brews and white wines from Pinot Boutique (perfect for summer!). Our snack game was on point too: macarons from ICI Macarons, and savory snacks from Agno Grill and Pure FareBai supplied us with plenty of juice and sparkling water! After a fun night with my blogger babes (and bros), it was time for some sleep!

We got an early start at Saxbys the next morning for a full day of speakers, workshops and panels! A million and one thanks to Saxbys for hosting us again this year and keeping me fueled with iced chai lattes all.day.long. Would not have made it without your tea and lovely baristas.

Saxby's Blog ConnectAnother lifesaver? These awesome custom planners from Erin Condren. They came in super handy for the attendees during all the awesome presentations we had throughout the day.

Erin Condren Blog Connect PlannerThank you again to all of our speakers, presenters and panelists! We wouldn’t have had a conference without you — and our attendees, of course!

Comfy New England Patriots Outfit | Shades of SarahThe NFL Draft was in Philadelphia this weekend, so I thought this was the perfect time to finally show you the comfy outfit I wore to a Super Bowl party. And no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you — I’m a New England Patriots fan, and have been for years. One of my goals this week is to buy a Patriots tee so I don’t have to keep wearing the one I painted when I was in high school.

Comfy New England Patriots Outfit | Shades of SarahChrystina took these photos of me back in January, and it’s weird to think that it still would’ve been appropriate for the weather this week…and totally inappropriate too! One day I was debating turning my heat back on, and the next day I was wishing I had central air! Spring, you are something else.
Comfy New England Patriots Outfit | Shades of SarahMay, I am ready for you! I like my ankle boots, but I’m ready to put them away until the fall.
