Does the name “Coppola” mean anything to you? The patriarch, Francis Ford, of course brought us The Godfather films (which I still haven’t seen, because gun violence). His daughter, Sofia, makes lovely films as well, like Lost In Translation and Marie Antoinette (I mean, the art direction alone in that one). Now granddaughter Gia (and Sofia’s niece) is getting into the family business with her directorial debut, Palo Alto. It seems…interesting. I’m not sure it’ll be any good to be honest, but I appreciate the vibe it’s going for. Emma Roberts has been making some really interesting choices too, so this will probably be worth adding to my Netflix queue.
