I’ve never had the pleasure of owning a piece from ModCloth, but I certainly lust over their dresses, coats and shoes. So when a ModStylist asked me to participate in their Uniquely You challenge and style one of their dresses, of course I said yes!

I’m kind of obsessed with the Tango for Two dress. The fit-and-flare shape and the lace are Old Hollywood, but the hot pink makes it 21st century cool. When a dress is this statement making, I can find that it can actually be harder to style! Go for a (comfy!) neutral shoe and jacket (I love love the asymmetrical zipper and collar). Instead of covering up the lace and sweetheart neckline with a statement necklace, I chose these whimsy floral studs and a classic art deco-inspired bracelet.

If it was warmer out and Nick and I had a fancy occasion to attend, I would love to step out in this look! I also wouldn’t mind having the Spotted on the Scene or Meadow Melodies dresses in my closet either. Maybe next Valentine’s will call for dressing up — this year we’re sticking to “House of Cards” and popcorn.
