Hit Refresh with Hair Cuttery

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hair Cuttery Salons. All opinions are 100% my own.

Hair Cuttery Spring Look

Anyone else feel like the year doesn’t really get started until spring does? I’ve written about this before, and I really find it to be true in many areas of my life — including my hair and outfit choices. I recently mentioned I was over my hair, and I knew a stop at Hair Cuttery would freshen me right up.

With my hair a few inches shorter and freshly colored, I feel like a new person. I’m still dealing with that new haircut styling-learning curve but worth it. (Also really relieved my favorite Cibu shampoo is color-safe!)

Hair Cuttery makes salon visits so stress-free. I stopped by after work on a weekday and was seated immediately (check out their store locator — they list waiting times for your local salons!). Honestly, I’m one of those annoying clients — I’m rarely sure what I want, and on this visit I didn’t even bring any inspiration photos. It didn’t matter. My stylist Jennifer patiently listened to my hair complaints and offered great suggestions. I love the color we chose, and since I was covering up older highlights, there’s some extra dimension.

That services at Hair Cuttery are so affordable is just icing on the cake. Full disclosure: my cut and color were paid for, but the total was a little more than I’ve paid for just a cut at independent salons. When you’re on a budget, the choice is easy — especially when the quality is top-notch. See for yourself by scrolling through the #MyHCLook hashtag on Twitter or Instagram, and don’t forget to use the hashtag if you post your own freshly updated spring look.

Spring is a season of change, so I say you head over to your local HC and try something new (or even newish)! And with that money you saved at the salon, you can buy a fun sundress and sandals too.

Stars & Stripes

First, can we just take a moment and congratulate the women’s national soccer team for bringing home THE WORLD CUP?!!! Right before the final on Sunday night, I predicted they’d win…with a 2-1 score. By the 16th minute, they were up 4-0 and Carli Lloyd had a hat trick. What even. It was ridiculous and amazing, and totally makes up for that time in 2011 when we lost on PKs and I cried in Times Square.

Striped A-line Dress

Anyway, between the World Cup and the 4th of July this past weekend, I’ve been in a pretty patriotic mood. My soccer jersey isn’t necessarily work appropriate though, so I have to get creative if I want to show off my team spirit. I also don’t have much red in my wardrobe, so I go for a more subtle look: a pink striped dress and star-shaped stud earrings.

My twisted skinny belt and dress wrinkles aside, I always feel put together when I wear this dress. It’s from last year, but it’s a classic print and the fabric has a nice weight to it. The cognac clogs dress it down a bit (my office is business casual), but I do throw on a cardigan at my desk.

Do you have any tricks to subtly show off your patriotism? If you want more red, white and blue ideas for work, I’d check out Style On Target for sure!
