Sweater Weather: Cozy Sweaters Under $75

It’s late November, and these short, brisk days are here to stay. This type of weather always makes me want to refresh my sweater collection. Sweaters and leggings are pretty much my late fall/winter uniform, so I rounded up cozy sweaters under $75 — and most are under $50!

Some sweater trends stood out to me this season. Color-blocking is back, and I especially love the color-blocked chevron sweater can elongate a whole look. The other color-blocked pick (from Target!) would be great to wear into the spring with its brighter neutral shades. Turtlenecks, mock or not, up the cozy factor.

Lots of sweaters are now in tunic lengths, which is awesome — I want to feel comfy wearing them with leggings. Some, like the v-neck tunic sweater from Old Navy, are shorter in the front and on the thinner side, which means they work for a French tuck into skirts or high-waisted jeans.

I know it can be dull to start every outfit post with a weather update, but I’ll defend it — after all, if you’re practical, the weather can play a big part in how you dress. So with this bizarre warm winter we’ve been having, I’ve been wanting to dress for spring. That’s where this cardigan, which was actually part of LOFT’s fall collection, comes in.

I mean… are the colors not perfect? The cardigan is super warm and cozy, so it’s perfect for those warm winter days when I don’t want to rely on a peacoat yet again. Now if only I could keep my chambray from wrinkling. No judgment zone, right?

My mornings get so hectic with the dogs and trying to make breakfast and/or lunch that I’m starting to accessorize with just one or two pieces. I love my wrap bracelet from Victoria Emerson — once I figured out how to put it on (it’s adjustable), it makes a big impact. When they asked me to collaborate, I had the hardest time choosing just one bracelet — I considered this one and this one, but I ended up choosing this cool skull bracelet! I used to be obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean, so I just tell myself this is a more grownup way of showing off my fandom. (And maybe adding some edge? Just kidding… I am so not edgy!) Now that it’s fall, it’s so easy to fall back on wearing sweaters, pants (okay, leggings) and boots everyday. But if you want to mix thing up, may I recommend a corduroy skirt?

Corduroy skirts are workhorses. They work with bare legs and tights, sneakers or booties, blouses or tees. Plus, these skirts are affordable and come in nearly every color you can think of. My black corduroy skirt is an oldie but goodie from Tobi, but I’ve picked out some other options below:

I’ve styled it with a tee and denim jacket, tights and a patterned top and even a tank and flats in cooler weather. Have you added one to your wardrobe yet?
