Welcome to my first outfit post using manual focus. What. It’s a pretty exciting development, minus my zoom/head space issues (hello, no feet). Nonetheless, I’m proud of my photography progress. What’s next? ISO? You never know…

It’s about time this dress made it onto the blog. I’ve had it for well over a year now, it was a hand-me-down from my college friend Tracy. (Which is kind of crazy since we have nowhere near the same body shape.) It’s a versatile dress, but I tend to wear it as a skirt paired with a button-down. It’s just a good match. And this combination especially reminds me of something Michelle would wear because polka dots and chambray.

I also had to show off my new wallet. I’m obsessed with it, enough that when I went home I convinced my mom to order her own. It’s the absolute perfect size — small enough to fit in my smallest woven cross-body bags, but so much roomier and grown-up than an ID case. There are also nifty compartments for my coins and my SEPTA pass. And it’s teal. It was a long search, but worth it.

Canadian Dress?

No outfit post of my 4th of July outfit (I know, how disappointing, missing out on another red, white and blue outfit 😉 ), but what’s more Americana then denim? Well, actually, if you’re my boyfriend, you’re calling this denim dress a Canadian tuxedo (aka a Texas tuxedo, but ok).

This dress was one of my clearance finds from Old Navy last weekend — apparently it’s trendy too! — and I wore it to volunteering on Sunday. I was at the same space again (the yarn-dying factory), but I remembered my DSLR this time and my volunteer coordinator Cara graciously helped me out as a photographer/art director.

And because it’s worth mentioning again: how cool is this space??

For the outfit, I added some color with my pink belt and print slip-ons (they look like Tom’s, but unfortunately they aren’t as socially-conscious). I’m definitely happy with my dress purchase — though it’s a tad short in the thigh area — but it’s already getting too humid to wear anything with sleeves. But don’t worry, summer: you’re still my favorite.

Working in an office attached to a mall is one of the best and worst things that ever happened to me, professionally- and financially-speaking. Once I’m off for the day, I just can’t resist browsing a store or two. Luckily, when I did this past week, I found an epic clearance sale happening at Old Navy. Really makes me wonder why I buy things full price. Here are my finds.

My dress didn’t come with a belt like it should’ve, but I still spent the whole weekend wearing it. And it’ll be perfect with leggings and boots in the fall.

Blue Waffle Sweater — Original Price: $29.94, In-Store Clearance: $1.47 + 30% off =

$1.03

You may think I’m crazy for buying a sweater in late June, but it’s a classic fit that won’t go out of style in a color that’s perfect for more transitional weather. No shame in hoarding it until fall.

Eyelet Fit & Flare Dress — Original Price: $34.94, In-Store Clearance: $11.49 + 30% off=

$8.04

No brainer. I can’t wait to wear this to work or a dressier occassion. I love the eyelet and the color.

TOTAL = $14.30 (savings of $70.79, or 84%)

Not bad, not bad at all. I got three versatile, above-average quality pieces for less than the cost of one of these items full-price. I’m pretty proud of myself. (In case you couldn’t tell.)
