A couple summers ago, between starting my first full-time job and turning 24, I noticed these awful bags under my eyes. Let’s just say I was not a fan of this development. Since then, I’ve been experimenting with eye creams to help reduce the appearance of my under-eye bags. Below, the best eye creams I’ve tried (and a bust)…
Yes to Blueberries Eye Firming Treatment is my favorite drugstore eye cream. Like all Yes To products, it’s not tested an animals. The Yes To Blueberries collection is geared towards aging concerns, and I definitely saw an improvement using this. Bonus: it also smells really nice! All you need is a small amount, and I love the pump dispenser. (Yes To also has an eye cream that reduces dark circles.)
Clinique All About Eyes was a game changer. I picked it up at a sample sale, and honest-to-goodness, saw an improvement in my eye bags the very next morning. I recently ran out, but I applied it by gently dabbing it under my eyes, on my eyelids, and the outward corner of my eyes. It’s light and doesn’t sting if it gets in my eyes. The downside? The price tag, and it’s not cruelty-free.
Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Cream like the Clinique eye cream, is pricey and not cruelty-free (both brands are owned by Estée Lauder). However, it has a richer formula and is paraben-free. I wouldn’t say that it’s as effective, but it does make a difference (and makes me feel slightly less guilty than the Clinique one). I’m actually interested in trying this Origins eye cream next, because it has a brightening effect. (I don’t have the worst dark circles, but still.)
Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel is not something I would buy again. First, it’s a gel, not a cream. It has a nice sensation when applied, but I don’t really see a noticeable difference when I use it. It does leave film under my eyes, so I don’t recommend using it under makeup (the others I use AM and PM when necessary). Overall, it feels nice but that’s about it.
Anyone else have an eye cream addiction? I’ve only accumulated so many because of sample sales and forgetting to pack some on trips (it’s that important to my skincare routine!), but I’m looking forward to finishing these up and trying something new.
