The last week in Philadelphia before I left for my vacation, it was hot. And muggy. (I did not leave South Florida for that type of weather.) As far as getting dressed goes, the weather meant one thing: dresses.
This dress from last summer’s DesignNation collaboration was last year’s birthday dress. (I should also mention last year I held out for this dress and ended up buying it for only $13.) I’m obsessed with the palm print, but the stripes and black and white color scheme keep it just this side of classic. The length is also perfect, and it’s pretty comfy to wear — perfect for a heat wave.
When it’s hot out, I also like to keep the accessories as simple as possible: a dainty (or “whisper”) necklace, studs, and a sophisticated cuff. I used to hate on gold jewelry, but it can be as timeless as black and white.
