I received a free pair of Economy frames and lenses from SelectSpecs in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

SelectSpecs Review

A couple months ago, SelectSpecs.com got in touch and asked if I was interested in reviewing their glasses. As a longtime four eyes (since 1998, y’all), I happily agreed. SelectSpecs is a UK-based, online retailer for glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses.

SelectSpecs has extensive options for men and women, at various price points, which made it difficult to choose just one frame. You can search by frame shape, color, etc., which helps narrow things down for you! Unfortunately, the site doesn’t have a virtual try-on option, but luckily, I generally know what frames work for my face. I chose the rectangular Savannah frame in Demi, a fun animal print.

I’ve never ordered glasses online before, so I was surprised how easy it was to submit my prescription information. Between the production and shipping (holidays, not the best timing…), it took almost a month for me to receive my new glasses, so about a week or so longer than what I’m used to from the eye doctor. The frames are really sturdy though, and I’m glad I changed things up slightly by choosing a print rather than a solid frame, so I’m pretty happy with my choice. (I shared a closer look at my glasses on Instagram.)

A word on lenses: I have a very strong prescription, so it is normally recommended I order special lenses. However, this review offer only included SelectSpec’s free lenses and coating option. The lenses are thicker than I usually wear, but after a couple days, they no longer felt heavier than usual.

Overall, I would definitely recommend SelectSpecs for glasses-wears who are looking for more frame options online or are interested in having a backup pair of glasses (because mixing it up is fun!). If you do have a strong prescription though, just be aware that additional charges may add up quickly!

Have you tried SelectSpecs or similar online retailers before? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
