Guest Post: Elle from Elle Enchanted

Hi! While I’m on vacation in Colombia, I have some fabulous guest bloggers filling in for me. Today’s guest post is from Elle, a fellow New Yorker/Floridian! She’s the first blogger I met in real life, and I’m glad she could guest blog for me 🙂

Hey, Shade of Sarah readers! I’m Sarah’s friend/blogging buddy Elle from Elle Enchanted! I’m super excited she asked me to fill in for her today! Sarah herself inspired this post, so I hope this bodes well with you guys!

We’re both from Florida and here, summer means thunderstorms and breezy 60-90 degree Fahrenheit weather. (Clearly, Elle is from farther north than Ft. Lauderdale!) It’s hard to fit trends with practicality to beat the rain, the breeze, and the heat. Sarah asked on Twitter recent what to wear in a place with 60-80 degree weather and lots of rain. So while she’s on her fabulous vacation, I thought I’d share with you guys a bold summer look to combat the rain and the heat in style.

Summer Lovin'
I loved the idea of a shorter lightweight trench coat and so I picked this fabulous yellow number and decided to go all out with a print mixing color blocking, fun, and easy look that I would wear myself (save for the earrings, I don’t have piercings!).

I like the bold pairing of red, blue and yellow. I love light easy a-line skirts and so I found this perfect summer shirt to pair with it, and bam, we got a kicking outfit. But now, for accessories. I went for some awesome rings (I love the two finger look!) and simple flower studs, a cross body bag, some simple brown sandals and most importantly for those summer thunderstorms – a bubble umbrella – it may sound silly but these are the best umbrellas because they can’t flip inside out! (It can’t be just me who’s destroyed countless umbrellas because of the wind!)

Hope you liked my summer look, and have a blast on vacation Sarah. (I’m jealous.)

xoxo,

Elle
